The Bat Cave is located 2 km from the village a walk of 25 minutes. We start the trail at 10.00 am and the guiding pick you up at your hotel. During the walk your guiding will explain about things you see on the way, you even might see monkeys. We will arrange torchlight, because it’s required to see anything inside the cave, we recommend to wear good walking shoes because it requires a bit climbing over rocks and it can be very slippery. The cave is about 500 meters long. In the cave you can see more then thousands of bats which are hanging under the rock ceiling, at the end of the cave it become smaller there you can find swallows. Here and there the ceiling is open so you can see the sky and  the dense green of the jungle trees, there are often groups of monkeys moving surround in the treetops,  if you are lucky you even can see Sumatran Orangutans.
After caving walk back to Bukit Lawang instead go to Landak River to get a local lunch, that our guiding prepared for you. Landak river, is a very clear and a quite place. Good for swimming, relaxing and enjoy your delicious lunch.
